If expressing your love feels too daunting to you, you should consider moving to Luxembourg.

Imagine you are a guy and you want to express your love to a girl. If you are in Luxembourg, you are lucky. Both the proposal and reciprocity cannot be simpler and sweeter - literally and figuratively.

When spring blooms its first flowers, the boy gives a pretzel (usually sweet, with almonds) to the girl he is interested in. This happens three weeks before Easter, on what is called ‘Half Lent Sunday’.

The girl has twenty days ‘to think about it’, and to choose among the guys who professed their love to her. If she is interested in someone, she reciprocates the feelings on Easter Sunday by giving a chocolate egg in return. And voila! They are officially in love!!

In a leap year though, they switch roles. Girls offer pretzels and guys, chocolate eggs.

A lot of people cannot wait for the sun to shine its first rays of love on Easter sunday tomorrow - the beginning of summer love stories and a few heartbreaks!!
